The mission field is as diverse as those who are called to work in it.
For some it is ministering in their vet practices, for others it is reaching out to unsaved colleagues, staff and clients, and to others it is reaching out to the rural poor of the developing world. CVMCanada, in its desire to further the Kingdom of God throughout the world, through the veterinary profession, is taking an active role in many facets of Christian ministry available to today's Christian animal health professional.
International Ministries:
Because
of the importance of animals as sources of
food, income and draft power for the rural
poor of the developing world, veterinarians
have many skills that can make an incredible
difference to the lives of those served
through our missions programs overseas. CVMCanada has
had missionaries go to Tanzania, Kenya,
India, Indonesia, Uganda, Bolivia, Haiti, Mongolia, and Sierra Leone.
The Short-term Mission Program:
Christian Veterinary Missions of Canada does
missions trips directly or alongside CVM US
facilitating short and long-term mission trip
opportunities throughout the year. One of CVMC’s
functions is to facilitate opportunities for large
and small animal Vets, Vet-Techs, Vet Students,
and Resource Personnel such as business people,
computer technicians, English teachers, dentists,
doctors, nurses, etc. Tasks may involve veterinary
training, working with livestock in rural
villages, large and small animal clinic work,
manual labor, evangelizing and building
relationships.
Long-Term Missions Program:
CVMCanada, in partnership with our sister organization, CVM US, is seeking veterinarians who feel called to use their skills on a full-time basis in the developing world. The length of term varies from two to three years, with the possibility of extending beyond that time.
