Short Term Missions
Christian Veterinary Missions of Canada does missions trips directly or alongside CVM US facilitating short and long-term mission trip opportunities throughout the year. One of CVMCanada’s functions is to facilitate opportunities for large and small animal Vets, Vet-Techs, Vet Students, and Resource Personnel such as business people, computer technicians, English teachers, dentists, doctors, nurses, etc. Tasks may involve veterinary training, working with livestock in rural villages, large and small animal clinic work, manual labor, evangelizing and building relationships.
Your experience may include:
- The opportunity to share your faith in Christ though service. This service will minister to your host family as well as the nationals with whom they serve. You’ll be able to share both in word and in deed as you share your knowledge and technical skills.
- The opportunity to help developing communities who would otherwise be without such assistance. Your skills should proved a training model so the community can continue to progress long after you’ve gone.
- Temporarily living in a cross-cultural environment.
- Learning about human and animal needs in a developing country.
- Learning about the practice of veterinary medicine in a developing nation.
- A discovery of what the Lord is doing through missions in various parts of the world, as well as witnessing to the local body of believers.
- A personal challenge regarding your lifestyle, and a time of challenge to grow in personal faith.
- The opportunity to share your experience with friends, family, churches, and/or professional colleagues, thereby offering a broadened perspective to others.
- A test of the possibility of sharing your life in a longer, career commitment to ministry in the developing world.

How it Works:
Contact admin@cvmcanada.org to request an application.
Fill out the application and return along with your application fee ($50.00) to CVMCanada.
Once your application has been received and your references have been contacted, Dr. Ed Neufeld will contact you for an interview by phone or in person to discuss where you are best suited.
CVMCanada or CVM US will arrange a location. Once a location has been agreed upon, you’ll receive our Short Term Missions Manual, which includes a Service Agreement, preparation advice, fundraising tools, foreign travel tips, and more. It is very important that this is read and that the spiritual, health, and travel preparations are made.
You must visit a travel health clinic to obtain information on what preventative measures to take and also have medical travel insurance including medical evacuation- just in case.
Once you are communicating with parties involved (i.e. CMV US or overseas host) it is important to always keep CVMCanada informed.
Upon returning from your travels, CVMCanada requests that you fill out an evaluation form about your trip.
Mission trips are self-funded, i.e. through the support of churches, family and friends. Donation receipts for income tax purposes will be issued at the end of the year by CVMCanada.
